Lomachenko is the two time Olympic gold medalist who got and deserved the better contract from the start. He's sill a champion while Walters lost his bet on the scale and is coming off a draw.

I thought he won vs Sosa but t was still a draw. Top rank already did Walters a favor by feeding him a shot Darchinyan and giving him a smaller man in Donaire. Now instead of meeting half way, Loma is going up to his weight. How in the hell can Walters ask for even 40% of the pot???

Of course Lomachenko should get paid more.

The fighter that moves up to a higher weight class should get paid more money, unless he's going up against a much bigger star (Like Canelo Khan). But seeing as Lomachenko and Walters are roughly on the same level, Lomachenko should get paid more because he's taking the bigger risk. He's the one moving up to 130 and he's essentially giving Walters the advantages. So the least they could do is pay Lomachenko more. That's the way it should be, otherwise what kind of incentive is it to move up if you're not fighting for a belt and the other guy wants to get paid the same amount as you do?

Walters had his chance as an HBO main eventer against Marriaga and didn't deliver.

The undercard bout did better ratings than his fight.

Walters was back down as an undercard after that fight and did absolutely awful ratings.

HBO and Top Rank are both more interestd in Lomachenko than Walters at this point.

HBO probably doesn't have much interest in Walters outside of a Lomachenko fight (which they already don't seem to be all that interested in).

Let Walters walk away from this fight and see where that gets him.
