his offense was bad...he was just checking him....and I mean....the difference in explosiveness was so wide, that's the bare minimum....he could wait for a look and throw it and he was always gonna hit first. His defense was good when he was playing defense, but sometimes ate too many shots sleeping when he got a bit offensive.....

He is tricky though.

His postfight interview confirmed as much, he wasn't getting off shots, and was not sharp defensively.

Both GGG and Kovalev will have big problems against Ward.

His fans just see him in defense mode, kinda rolling, kinda moving and automatically assume he is not getting touched, when they traded jabs, they only see Ward landing.....just going with the narrative....

I think Ward made Barrera look worse than he actually is.

I think Ward is too clever for Kova. 50 year old Hopkins survived Kovalev for 12 rounds, I don't see Kovalev knocking Ward out, but I see Ward deconstructing Kovalev.

Ward won clearly, but I don't know that there was anything about this performance which outshone what GGG and Kovalev do. David Lemieux was world champion and a better fighter than Barrera, and GGG outboxed him every bit as thoroughly as Ward did Barrera + knocked him out.
