He wont go down a couple of pounds for a welter, what makes you think he will do it for canelo when he spent months saying 160 or no fight... too bad that ship has sailed, as jmw champ (after the smith fight) canelo has every right to demand the fight on his weightclass, you know 154 or no fight, i know he wont do that, but i wouldnt mind..

Except word is Canelo will fight Saunders after Smith , who is of course a middleweight champion.

And yes, Golovkin would have gone done a pound or two for Canelo without question . Tom Loeffler had said they were willing to negotiate. If the fight was on the table and they actually negotiated everything with Canelo not budging on say, 158 pounds for example, they would have taken it for sure. I think there is a limit though and 155 was too much, but 157-158 absolutely. They were willing to fight Rosado at 158 in fact but Rosado said no, he wants 160 because he doesn't believe in catch-weights.

I almost forgot there were some people saying Golovkin was ducking Brook on here. Of course, easy to say since no one including myself thought this was a serious offer from Brook.

Nor should he. Brook has no name and brings no money to anyone aside from a Kahn fight in the UK, and that might even be worthless now.
If he's going to go down in weight, do it for a star like Canelo.
