I'm a fan of Lara, but Brook has bigger fights even at 147 than Erislandy.

SMH ... and Golovkin doesn't have bigger fights at MW than Brook? How come nobody can see this for what it is - Eddie is bigging up Brook the week before he defends in a shitty match-up. (and judging by these boards it has worked on the hardcore fans. Way to go Eddie - great promoting. Loeffler needs to be a bit more switched on as Golovkin has somehow come out of this looking bad when the truth is this is an irrelevant call-out. Would be like Ward saying he could challenge for the HW title. Oh, wait.

Golovkin's biggest fight is Canelo. Then Saunders. Then Abraham (massive in Germany) Then De Gale. Then maybe Jacobs or Jack. If all those can't be negotiated then K2 could maybe think about Brook.

Why would GGG come down for a lose/lose fight. GGG fights at 160. If he's gonna give up any advantage it's need two things: a good reason like money and fame. And he shouldn't do it for guys who walk in ring weighing around same or more.

Most don't know this, but Brooks hardly has to put on weight. He already steps in ring above 160. I read somewhere 165. GGG steps in on average 169.

If he's going to go down in weight, do it for a star like Canelo.
I don't often agree with you (maybe that's an understatement), but you're alway consistent. I can't help but respect that.

Thx, I take that as a compliment. I also agree that Brook is a big boy. He's dangerous and doesn't have a belt that Genady is interested in so why the hell should GGG put himself in that "lose/lose" (as you put it) scenario?

Canelo's mistake was grabbing a belt he didn't want to defend. Now, he's the subject of criticism and it makes him look cowardly. If he wants to be a star and do 155 or whatever, good on him. He's in the position to do that. But, don't do it with a kidnapped MW championship. That's ugly no matter how you look at it. Only made to look worse when you're defending it against a welter who could still make 140!

Are you even a boxing fan? Does sporting Ward in your avi add some sort of credibility to your opinion? You go watch that farce while the purists will watch Kell Brock* putting on a show stopping performance vs the Maple Leaf Muscle Kevin Bizier. #Allofthelights

He would bring Sky PPV, so that's not true.

This was originally mentioned a while back.

I can see where Brook is coming from. They are clearly desperate for him to get in a big fight, and so they should be.

GGG would fight Brook, they know that. I'm sure that both HBO and Sky would love that fight. But in all honesty, it doesn't make sense. Brook should focus on a Garcia or Pacquaio/Bradley fight if possible. Hell even Vargas over Golovkin.

But desperation has a strong stench. And this is reeking of it.

I guess they are playing hardball with GBP/Canelo, they do not want to give them any ammo on why he should fight them below 160. In doing so, GGG may have let go of a good little name on his resume there and a big fight that would have had casuals talking, and Brook would have had the boxing world talking for challenging too. Oh well.
Most likely? GGG would end Brook in 4 rounds. Not even remotely competitive just because of styles, let alone weight.
