  • I guess it has nothing to do with the fact that he's older now and he probably can't make 168, or atleast not as easily, anymore?

I guess you can spin that into "daring to be great."

Well at least he didn't create his own weight division, and truly took the challenge to be great, because now he really has to rely on skill being that he's going to have to fight bigger men. Not to mention he has to fight a monster to truly get the respect that he deserves!

all that matters is Andre turned pro below 168 and fought mostly at middleweight well below 168 before the super 6....look it up....he was never a full fledge light heavyweight

He was just so good in the amatuers that he could move up. Many great or good amatuers fought over their weight classes

Timmeh and Porter fought at middleweight as amatuers and are welterweights as pros....Ward doesnt baloon up between fights like timmeh and Porter is a gym rat, keeps his weight low
Fax. You can't move up to a division in which you were the gold medalist. Fax, ward has been fighting at 168 to have the size advantage.

        • Man it's sad that a talent like ward can only make money in Oakland. The guy has no fan appeal. Foreigners are out selling him in places he wouldn't draw 500 peeps.

Knock outs do that, tactical decisions do not.

              You're welcome.

So basically, what you are saying is..... HBO are pushing fighters that they hope will be appealing to casual fans, simply to maximize their profit margins..... REGARDLESS as to how good that fighter really is?

Because that is called being a manufactured fighter, and that is what we have all been complaining about.

American fans are the worst in boxing...they get behind foreigners more n before their own

UK fighters make more money n draw bigger crowds in the us than our own former Olympians n fighters unless they fight @ home
