I like GGG but i agree his resume right now isn't great. But when the other big name champion in his weight class won't fight him, what can he do? And then they probably still wouldn't give him any credit if he beat Canelo anyway.

He can move up to 168 but who is really there right now that people are going to give him credit for. The best 168 fighters now are the likes of DeGale and Badou Jack. I actually rate DeGale but is anybody really going to say it's a great win if GGG went up and beat him? of course not.

The fact is, the only fights out there that would make people happy and give him credit are probably up at 175, which is a bit of a stretch for a guy who isn't even a big Middleweight.

For starters, he could be willing to negotiate with Canelo.

I am not suggesting that he accept 155, just negotiate with him.

They were willing to drop to 157 for Kell Brook.

I have never heard of a big fight that got made when 1 side was completely unwilling to negotiate with the other..... I'm sure it's never happened.

Canelo only won his title a few months back.

The world is running on red time now.....

If Golovkin had been willing to negotiate with little 153lb Cotto, like Martinez/Geale/Canelo were, would he have that title already..... or not?

When it comes to fighting a guy like Ward, it doesndoesn't make financial sense. Yet Canelo is the biggest money fight available to him, and they're playing hardball about the weight. Is it about money, or is about legacy? Becaue if its about legacy, beating Ward does far more than beating Canelo. So it seems like that's the fight he would be chasing. Hell, Lara at least equals Canelo in terms of legacy, yet tgey won't entertain fighting him. What is GGG gonna do if and when Canelo vacates? Is he gonna sit around fighting the Wades of the world hoping Saunders will fight him for another meaningless belt? Not sure what these guys are doing. But whatever it is, its wasting a lotta years that this cat likely doesn't have.

It is absurd that they won't even negotiate with Canelo, especially after recently stating that Golovkin can beat anyone at 154..... AND after admitting that they would drop to 157 for Kell Brook.

It appears that they want to avoid Canelo, and are relying on the WBC to strip him.

I have said it before, the excuses for Golovkin's underwhelming resume are absurd..... simply because the notable name opponents are not ducking Golovkin, the lesser guys are.

The guys who are avoiding Golovkin are not top names..... Saunders/Jacobs, etc..... but the guys who Golovkin COULD have fought, but CHOSE not too, are MUCH bigger names..... Ward/Cotto/Canelo, even Lara is more well-known and rated much higher than his current victims.

Golovkin appears to be chasing the B/C guys, but avoiding the A guys.

Golovkin has the exact resume he wanted, or he would change it.

On what planet will he land big fights by being unwilling to negotiate ?

They don't want to mention Lara, and won't negotiate with Cotto/Canelo/Ward.

There is nobody else, he has the exact resume he wanted, minus a couple of B guys.

It appears that they are building Golovkin's legacy off belt collection (vacant/stripped are fine) and retiring undefeated, despite facing nobody of note.

I can't imagine the WBC striping Canelo. He is their favorite son. If this goes to court it will add another year to this dilemma.
