Comments Thread For: Wilder: Povetkin Not The Best or Toughest I've Faced, I'll KO Him!

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (36-0, 35KOs) believes his upcoming opponent, Olympic gold medal winner and former WBA champion Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs), is being overhyped a little bit.

The thing about Wilder is that we have seen him and his team use inspirational speeches to hype himself up, but he also doesn't know how to lie. He's pretty straight up about what he feels so I think this is a good sign.

This is why Wilder gets a lot of crap from the fans - he says ****** things. Povetkin is by FAR the best he's ever faced.

Pretty sure Sasha is the best you've faced, Deontay, but good luck anyway.

                Povetkin's the best he's faced.

He can win, but it won't be easy.

                1. Alexander Povetkin
                2. Bermane Stiverne
                3. Malik Scott
                4. Artur Szpilka
                5. Johann Duhaupas

If fans and HBO have GGG as a top 3 p4p fighter with the limited opposition he's faced, I'm dying to see how they'd keep wilder out of the top 5 if he does indeed KO povetkin

A victory over Povetkin would be worth more than the rest of Wilder's career, combined. He has the clear #2 resume at heavyweight after Klitschko. Then its a long ways down to the other candidates.

Regardless of who wins, that's the truth.

I'm not sure why Wilder would want to play down the situation. Povetkin isn't sitting around reading American local newspapers. Wilder should be hyping this fight.
