Nothing new. Hearn always does this. Make it look like he's negotiating with some big names out there just to lure Khan, Frampton, etc. for his clients, somehow show he has alternatives.
To be fair almost all promoters/managers do this, Loeffler, Hoya, Arum, Decubas, GYM's promoter, etc. Bottom line: they always have specific targets in mind, "You're not the only choice we have." Kind of like courting a girl, "You'll be sorry if you don't accept me. Better stop acting hard to get."
So Cotto and others should be wary of this Hearn guy. Hearn will cancel an ongoing negotiation without showing guilt or remorse. Don't know about the Alexander case, but he certainly did it with Rios, Chaves, Donaire, etc.
Mark my word, Hearn and Brook will wait for Khan. That fight will always be their biggest lottery ticket and a sure guarantee to a comfortable retirement.
