Yeah. Top Rank's path for a fighter used to be from Spanish-language television to basic cable to premium cable and ppv.Typically get him on Friday Night Fights, try to look impressive and go from there. That was the basic strategy for lots of smaller managers and promoters for years. Sometimes these 12-0 guys are local guys brought in to lose, make someone else's record look good by beating an undefeated guy, sometimes these guys win and get bigger fights or perhaps lose but look good, which is geat exposure. Sometimes these guys work there way up. Lots of variations. That's gone now. No more Friday night fights. The other networks are PBC affiliated and HBO. The others the Mexican networks. So the options are getting smaller and smaller.
There is no good basic cable option right now with the PBC controlling ESPN, FS1, NBCSN, etc.
That's only part of Top Rank's problem, because the premium cable well has pretty much dried up for them too, with HBO cutting their budget and SHO being solidly with Haymon.Comment

Toe to Toe Tuesdays features plenty of prospects. Same with Spike TV. The NBCSports channel. I'm missing one. And Haymon works with a lot of promoters. You don't have to be managed by him to get on his cards either.Typically get him on Friday Night Fights, try to look impressive and go from there. So actually there are more options now than there were before. It's why an Errol Spence was able to fight four times last year on like four different channels. And why the idea that a 12-0 fighter can't get on TV is completely contradictory to the reality of the sport today.Comment

a lot easier for a 12-0 fighter to get on TV now. they just have to make sure they don't sign with an HBO promoter.Comment

So basically Hauser is admitting that he's talking out of his ass...And don't forget he insinuated Haymon should be lynched......If PBC does succeed and more mainstream media start covering and talking about boxing they'll be shocked at the bias and basic journalism ethics boxing writers routinely ignore. Hauser was great before he worked with HBO. His three part series on HBO is a classic. He had a very high level source. HBO cut the number of people attending their meetings to single digits and Hauser was still able to find out what happened in the meetings. With this first piece he's admitted there are only 4 people close to Haymon and they don't talk. So any info he writes in the next 4 articles will be from sources speculating from the outside or fringe people. Like a manager of a boxer who has no idea what goes on inside Haymon's inner circle.Comment

Does anyone even know if fat dan has EVER done one push up in his life?
I mean come on!
A guy that has been watching/following boxing for his lifetime.... not one sit up, push up, lap around the park?
I guess his only exercise is running to the fast food joints before they close.Comment
