Are people sleeping on Sullivan Barrera?

I know he isn't one of the decorated amateur Cuban boxers but he was still a world champion as a junior in the amateurs. For somebody who has been through the Cuban system and actually won gold in the worlds it says here he's just not somebody that just appeared on the scene.

He's got all the fundamentals down and a very good boxing IQ. He's also big and strong and if he trains with GGG he must have a very good conditioning as well.

I know he is slow but Ward has faced slower guys in Bika and Froch so that is not the bottom line. The bottom line is if he could take away Ward's ******* jab away.

I think Sullivan is not as good as Froch or Kessler but if he has their chin he is a dark horse in this fight.

How Cam you give him an accurate assessment given the level of opposition he's been in the ring with?

that is why you gotta give ward his due respect. once he fights kova, theres no more argument he has bigger balls than GGG esp that pampered brat in canela

Murat ain't bad and he handled him the way he was supposed to handle him. I am not sure Andre stops Murat.

Also, having won gold at under 18. Some of these kids are crazy good. Amir Khan used to beat up grown man at age 17. This kid Devon Henney at 15, 16 he's already sparring guys like Shawn Porter.

So him having won the worlds at under 18 and beating the men they put in front of him the way he's supposed to beat them gives me a good assessment that he's a solid, fundamentally sound fighter with a very good boxing IQ and very good power. I am not sure about his chin cause I haven't seen him getting hit but then again that just shows you that he doesn't allow C and D level fighters tag him and he takes them out.

He also wanted to fight Beterbiev and they turned him down as an opponent. So he's willing to face Beterbiev, Kovalev and Ward with 17 fights under his belt. He's confident.
