Alot of internet tough guys say **** like "oh hes a coward all he does is run". They have probably never been hit in the face.
People who DKSAB call it running, if you have never boxed you'll never understand it

You are confusing good footwork with running. There is a difference. Good footwork helps you avoid punches, while putting you in good position to deliver punches of your own. Running is just about fleeing. If you want to box, box. If you want to run, take up track & field. So these guys were cowards by your definition right? Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Roy Jones, Pernell Whitaker, Willie Pep were cowards right?
They "ran" side to side and backwards......you do realize 5 were unquestionably the best of their era and all of these guys are considered top 20 all time greats......its been obvious a long time ago...you just come on here to troll, play devil's advocate but your boxing acumen is high, you just like to troll and thats ok
you know a bit about the sport but I know some of the stuff you say is just for kicksComment

What the OP says is true. Mayweather for example, fighters and trainers (people that know boxing) have nothing but respect for Mayweather's great skill, then you have people on here saying all he does is run (people that don't know sht about boxing).Comment

No i wasnt comparing anything. Im just saying lots of fans accuse fighters of being running cowards dont know what it feels like to get hit, if they ever did get in the ring or put some gloves on and spar, they would probably feel a shot and get on their bicycle really quick.Comment

But those are pro boxers though. Getting hit is part of the work description when they signed up for it. i understand that in boxing, there's movements/footwork and then there's just plain out running. I just wish more fans would call it how it is. For example, floyd have very good defense to avoid punches, footwork, etc. and then there's time when floyd flat out back paddle to avoid punches or in the final round where he's leading on the score card, he'll just dance around the ring for all 3 minutes and not risk anything. but his fans will not call him out on that, instead they'll say thats footwork and movements. No i wasnt comparing anything. I couldn't care less what a guy is doing aslong as it's within the rules and he's actually dishing out punishment.
Lets not pretend running doesn't exist in the ring. Guys will risk maybe 30 seconds in the round and spend the other 2 mins & 30 seconds playing keep away with no intention to walk the opponent into counters and when the opponent does cut them off and an exchange is about to take place they clinch so nothing can happen. It's an emasculate style.
If your strategy is to box and move, I'm completely fine with that, just don't clinch whenever the guy gets close, everything should have a tradeoff but the leniency on clinching is ruining the out-boxer style.Comment
