I remember thinking Tapia was legit on the brink of death when he was getting his a$$ whooped by Kirkland. Haven't checked for him since but apparently he's coming off another stoppage loss. He gets points for bravery but this won't end well for him.

I think its actually pretty funny that Lemieux is fighting Tapia. He talks Schit about Cotto's catch weight fights at Middleweight, then he talks schit about Canelo not fighting a real middleweight, he then misses weight for his bout and is now fighting a Jr Middleweight who has moved up for the first time.

By the way not defending, just pointing out the hypocrisy.

You might not agree with what he's doing but it's not hypocrisy at all. He criticizes Canelo for making middleweights come down (and possibly draining themselves) to fight for his belt. He can't really be hypocritical in this case bc he doesn't hold a belt but the closest example would be him moving up to 168 but then telling the guy at 168 to come in at a catchweight.

Him fighting a guy coming up has nothing to do with catchweight, Tapia said he got KO'd bc he killed himself to make 154, so he was coming up anyway. And the catchweight he had with De La Rosa was last minute bc he couldn't make weight. Also it's more like what Canelo did vs Angulo and Lara (over the limit catchweight), not a draining catchweight.

Top Rank released Tapia too? They're really pruning their roster.

Can we not petition to get this fight cancelled? Its not a might, Tapia WILL end up seriously hurt here, real talk.

What an utterly horrible fight. Who the hell handles Tapia's career and what on earth do they have against the kid?

They might be, but you surprised? He's already got manhandled and KOed 2x brutally
