Does anyone kind of feel bad for Kell Brook?

He should be a star now, but Eddie Hearn has totally destroyed whatever respect Kell earned when he beat Porter for the belt. Now he's been left to destroy bums for spare change.
I know people will say but it's Kell's fault for getting stabbed and then injured so he couldn't fight in late 2014 and late 2015. The Frankie Gavin fight should never have happened, it should have been a real challenge that would have gave him more notoriety.
I'd now say Joshua, Haye, Khan, Quigg, Frampton, Degale, Selby, Groves, and probably even Dillian Whyte now. Even bums like Tony Bellew have more name value than Kell Brook in 2016 who is a world champion.
So yeah some of it is his fault, and some of it isn't. Anyway it's a shame because he should have been the #1 in the division right now, making millions in America but instead he is a joke once again before the Porter fight. I like Kell Brook too but the joke opposition is annoying now.
Whether you like him or not, you cannot argue with the fact that Floyd Mayweather fought seven current world champions and one number one contender in his last 10 fights. All the current champions (with the exception of Klitschko and the Frampton/Quigg fight) will only fight a number 1 contender every two years and absolutely refuse to fight another champion.Comment

I think Brooks is an honest fighter, but a bit dim and a pushover. If he was more resolved and confident he would have told Hearns long ago to make some decent fights or fired him. When I listen to him speak he comes across as timid and too laid back, with none of that umph that a fighter like the one in your avatar has who takes charge and is loud about what he wants. Eddie Hearns probably tells him, "all in good time, Rome wasn't built in a day, you have to trust in me, in the meantime...I have a fantastic fight lined up for you..."
So, yeah I feel bad for him.Comment

Give me a break. Kid pulling a pacquaio and wanting to live comfortably using promoter protectionComment

If Brook hadn't ducked Alexander, Chaves, Bradley, Thurman and Rios I would have felt bad for him, but how can you after he ducked all those guys? Hearn even got the IBF to make Bizier the mandatory so that Brook could avoid Chaves most recently. He made the fight, Brook got cold feet yet again, pulled out and then all of a sudden "oh we have to fight our 'mandatory' now".. I mean the ducking is so transparent it's laughable. The only one decent win on his record is against a guy Julio Diaz already beat, Shawn Porter.
Brook needs to stop ducking the top fighters at welterweight and Hearn needs to stop wrapping him up in cotton wool. He's a good fighter who is throwing his talent away by continuously ducking numerous fighters again and again. Any sympathy I had for Brook has long been buried underneath a pile of duck feathers.Last edited by FlatLine; 03-12-2016, 03:06 AM.Comment

Brook , arguably the best fighter at 147, is well in position to have the opportunity to emerge as WBC/WBA/IBF unified champion, at latest by the time 2017 comes around. He needs a big fight, that's part of a huge event, after the Bizier fight. the three bouts would all workComment

Nah.
I feel disappointed in what Eddie has served up, but ultimately Kell has told him enough is enough. He wants the big fights and I feel he's made that clear to Eddie so I'm hoping for better things starting this summer.
I have no doubt that Kell is the best welterweight in boxing, he'll beat whoever is put in front of him.Comment
