Pacific Islanders reached the islands first and then some tribes migrated to NZ. So 'Maori' comes second. Actually the Moriori pre-dated the Maori, but they got eaten, haha.

Also certain Maori DNA has been proven to Chinese heritage, so you might as well say 'here comes the Chinese beast.'

Maori's are the 'indigenous' people of NZ. Except they are not as they all came from Samoa/Tonga and the other Pacific island's. Hence why many of the pacific islands have dual nationality without ever needing to set foot in NZ.

Pacific Islanders don't have dual nationality you brick. They have to apply just like everyone else for NZ nationality, but due to agreements between both sets of government have a lower threshold required to move to NZ.
