      GGG would be slaughtered by hagler so the next viable opp is Kov.

          Koval has fought no one to date, thats not his fault but those are the facts.
          What Middleweight Champ stepped up to the Lightheavy Champ to challenge?

          That would be TBE Sugar Ray Robinson who was winning on all cards before heat exhaustion stopped him.

          These little midget guys jumping around from 140 to 154 have given a false indication that this was done throughout boxings history. When a very young fighter begins a career he can move up in weight but once they're matured its rare they move up unless the competition there is inferior in their minds.

          I like Koval and what he brings but in his division he isn't a top ten all era competitor yet. Lets see what happens with Stevenson and Ward, they have good records and skills.
          Ray
          Even the great Sugar Ray would be stopped by Kovalev. Maybe not Hagler but the skill to weight ratio is too high. We're talking a fighter from the era of same day weigh ins. Guys now are generally bigger and up to two-three classes off their "natural" weight division in some cases.

          Hagler is probably top 3 in my favorite fighters all time but Kov is just too big and skilled. Hagler may well be more skilled but when a guy is much bigger than you and has the skill to do something about it then there's only so much that can be done. Kov would have close to 20+ of muscle advantage. A big, monstrous puncher with height and an evidently (at the bare minimum) existant boxing iq and fair speed? Hagler was great but he's no Goku.

          I could see if Hagler was rocking the Pavlik or Chavez Jr frame but hagler was a natural middleweight. Not even a big one.

          Love Hagler but I'd definitely have money on Kovalev...

              If you could read what my point was you'd understand that my opinion is that Hagler was a MORE skilled fighter, not a win or lose over Koval.
              Where people get the idea that Koval is highly skilled amazes me. He is NOT a multi-dimensional fighter, he has some boxing skills offensively and has power but he is not a Bob Foster or Mike Spinks puncher or he would be KOing his opponents not tkoing them. He has decent accuracy but his defense right now is his offense.
              As I said I like the guys determination and he comes to the ring in shape and works hard to eliminate the judges. However he does not display the skill level that Hagler had.

              "Even the great Sugar Ray would be stopped by Kovalev"............... sure
              Now I know your dreaming;
              200 pro fights over 100 amateur fights and was stopped ONCE by heat exhaustion while winning the lightheavy title!!! Koval who hasn't fought anyone NEAR great KO's him????? hahaha fanboys are so delirious ...

              night boys Ray.
