Wilder is 36-0 with 35 KO's yet he's not a star?

He looks bad in a lot of his fights even against weak opposition. He looks like a guy who stepped into boxing late in life and is learning how to fight as he goes. He doesn't have the charisma to attract people and he isn't some monster who just goes in and ruins people. Just being American with no losses does not equal star power. Beat top guys and the accolades will come.Comment

KOed bums towards the titld shots.
Defended against mediocrd opponents. How can he be a star?
Even in KO wins, he looked bad.Comment

No worthwhile opponent, no big name, an unattractive style...pick and choose. Why is this kid not a star like Tyson and Holyfield were back in the day? You'd think he'd be all over ESPN every time he fought like Tyson used to be...
He's an Olympic medal winner, and has the highest KO % in boxing I'm guessing amongst guys with 30+ fights...
Is it because boxing is just a niche sport these days? Wilder has the personality to draw people in like Tyson did yet he's a virtual nobody outside of big fans of the sport..
What has to change to bring back the days where an American Heavyweight Champ is a household name? Everyone knew who Ali,Frazier,Foreman,Holmes,Tyson,Holyfield were....now people couldn't pick Wilder out of a lineup...Comment

Povetkin is formally recognised as the no.3 guy ahead if Wilder. Beat him you've cracked the top three, next stop Klitschko if he wants to truly be recognised as world class like Fury is now recognised.Comment

It's because even those who know little to nothing about boxing can tell Wilder doesn't possess much skills. I like Wilder too, I want to see him bring excitement to the division but that's the truth.Comment

He'll beat Martin easily.
Tougher challenges are a head.
The USA used to be the owner of the craft. Now all they put forward if hard swinging guys who picked up the sport late.
He is an Olympic champion and won that against far better fighters than Wilder.Comment
