imagine the state of boxing and the fans to where a guy becomes heavyweight champ THEN starts to learn to fight???

To tell you the truth that's the way this era of boxing is. Fight as many bums as you can to stay undefeated and then get a title shot off of that, then very very slowly step up your competition.
