Pretty funny since Cotto & Roach criticized Canelo for fighting Kirkland. Cotto's turning down a chance to fight Lara for a title to face a badly faded Kirkland or an over the hill little Marquez.

Kirkland is a big guy. IF the fight happens I got Kirkland.
Nevertheless, I don't understand why Cotto wants this fight. Even if he wins impressively...so what?

Maybe Cotto needs to face someone big, hittable, and vulnerable to refuel before going after a more significant challenge.

2 marquee names back to back. James is sitting pretty right now. After Cotto washes him he should just cash all the way out and fight GGG for 1 last 6 figure check. Dude would get 3 huge checks for less than 12 rounds of work.
