It's been good enough to establish that he's one of the best fighters in the world.
Kovalev's competition has been too soft...

It's shocking that people blind themselves to this. There's never a legit argument to it either. People just get frustrated and throw insults like fools. Kovalev does pass the eye test exceedingly well but his comp is laughable for the type of praise he gets. That's less a commentary on the man and more about the fans being fans. I speculate that he's quite good but you can't support that with his level of comp.Comment

In fact I'm wondering who in the last decade has done much more at LHW or looked much better doing it. That ain't trying to big Kovalev up, but an actual genuine ponder that just occurred to me.
The Ward fight will be a big one if Andre still has it and adapts well to the weight and then maybe there's Fonfara - although the cleverly and campillo fights showed his level and I'm not really seeing it as being up there with Kovalev.
Who would do you think Kovalev should fight to prove his worth and who, now I've thought of it do you think would have given him the toughest challenge in the last say... 20 years?Comment

However, I don't think Bhop or Pascal could take a Stevenson left. Can Stevenson take a Kova assault, who knows, I'm sure he could hurt, but same goes toward's Kova's chin with a Stevenson blow. The same way Rigo rocked Amagasa to the ground even though he guarded his whole face with his gloves. That wave of power just shook the Amagasa to the canvas, the exact same move Stevenson did to Fonfara. Stevenson's getting old, but eh, many of the greats still pushed late 30s. Foreman was the true testament of LEGIT power even aging. beastComment
