Kovolev is my #1 rated fighter in the world currently..

Outside of Ward, kovolev has the best wins of anyone from 160-200.. And in his biggest fights, he dominated them like they were mismatches..

Its laughable the hate some of the best fighters in the world get from people who would straight ***** themselves if they ever found themselves face to face with these so called cherry picking cowards.

It's been very good competition. Sillakh, Cleverly, Hopkins, Pascal twice.

He can't fight anyone else, he already fought the guys he had to fight.

Stevenson fight is all HBO/Duva's fault.

Beterbiev team turned down the fight, understandably because he's too green.

168 fighters are good, DeGale, Jack, Dirrell, Abraham, Ramirez but they're not ready to come up and fight yet, they first have to finish fighting eachother. So yeah, Kovalev can't really do anything about it except wait for Andre Ward to get Sullivan Barrera out of the way.

It's shocking that people blind themselves to this. There's never a legit argument to it either. People just get frustrated and throw insults like fools. Kovalev does pass the eye test exceedingly well but his comp is laughable for the type of praise he gets. That's less a commentary on the man and more about the fans being fans. I speculate that he's quite good but you can't support that with his level of comp.

Personally I felt Sillakh had a shot, and Hopkins would school him. I also felt Pascal would put up a much better fight than that in the first fight. I think it's unfair to call his resume poor, I think he just wins in such a dominating fashion that it's actually easier to brush off his competition as poor. He's done all he can do, beat #1 ranked LHW Hopkins, beat the next guy he could Pascal, take the title from a champion Cleverly, pass his tests against veterans like Campillo, erase close fights by beating up Boone. He literally can't do anything else but wait for Ward to fulfill his 175 debut.

I don't blame the guy at all. He's doing everything expected of him. I just think guys like the one below get emotional when you question the level of competition. I question the fans more than Kovalev. It's healthy to question things (not speaking to you here Kev as you know this well). I'm critical of my favorite fighters and I don't know why people are sooooo adverse to that. Must we lie about someone just because we like them? They're not our damn family members FFS.

Funny enough, very few people here talk shyt about Kovalev. I've never seen him get the flack that much more accomplished fighters get. But, if you even question his holiness or say something objective like, "his comp hasn't been the greatest" fanboys turn red and throw violent fits. Really odd.
