I'd turn my double leg into an inside cradle as I brought the opponent down...seemed like conor was commited to the shot as he was commited to taking a breather
McGregor, who prides himself on his punching and kicking, was basically saying "you beat me at my strength, I can't hurt you". Mentally defeated.
Smh...shouldn't have been running his mouth on Conan. Called Diaz a fat skinny man and other things on that show.

Conor quit and its got nothing to do with the choke. The choke was just how the fight ended. It could have been by GnP or any other way. Conor gave himself before that.
Going for the takedown was him waving the biggest white flag ever. He knew it. Nate knew it. And all the fans knew at that point that Conor was done for.

I don't consider it a quit as a "I give up" kind of thing. As many people pointed out, he wasn't getting out of the choke and what good would it do if he passed out? I can imagine that happening if somebody still think they can get out but when it's obvious that you can't get out, then what's the point? So he just tapped. The fight was ending right there either way.
I also don't agree that the takedown was a sign that he quit either. After he went for the takedown, it looked like he was trying to mount but Diaz had his leg and neck locked up to keep from doing that. That doesn't look like somebody is quitting to me.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 03-10-2016, 10:16 AM.

How was he shaken? It almost looked like he wanted to say something to Nate but just kept it to himself. Like he was too disappointed in himself.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 03-10-2016, 12:14 PM.

All jokes aside..McGregor made a very desperate bid...not out of hopes of the technique actually working, but in an attempt to stall Diaz momentum. because Connor's bread and butter simply wasn't working. The very desperation of his decision to shoot for an awkward takedown speaks volumes to me and others about his defeated mentality in there, at the time.
