Hes a B*tch - he quit. Holly Holm is a true champion; a real American more nuts than that euro bum.

I'm not a Conor McGregor fan but it's easy to say he "quit" when we're not the one on the floor being choked to sleep.

It's the same with boxing, people calling out fighters for taking knees and quitting on their stools. So what? If they really fear for their health and career in the fight, then they rightly should get out of there and admit defeat.

If Floyd ever said anything right it's "there's nothing cool about taking punishment"
Yeah i'd go along with that. When someone gets a hold locked in like that, you're not getting out. It's either tap or go to sleep.
Holmes braved it and tried, good on her, but i wouldn't call a guy who taps a quitter. Same goes with arm bars.

He doesn't even look sloppy on the ground to me. He looks like the "volunteer guy" to the BJJ or wrestling expert when they are showing off moves to use for a seminar or training session lol.

He folds up & calls it a night quicker on the ground than any high level guy I can think of in the UFC. I believe both his previous submission defeats were around the 1 min mark which largely I'd call a super quick submission cuz typically there is a lot of setting up of subs in MMA & it can take awhile to work thru the defense & prevention tactics guys use against subs. Conor has little defense or prevention tactics to get out of subs or prolong his survival.

I don't know if he quit so much as he panicked/crumbled under pressure.

Holm knew how to defend so it slowly crept up on her.
Connor let Diaz get it right on his windpipe and it doesn't matter who you are, when someone catches you like that and you don't know how to turn into it, etc, you will tap. I say this having worked that choke many times in bjj. Connor did what first-month white belts do in that situation because they know no way out.

And the whole thing about quick tapping, it happens. It's a lot more bad ass what Holm did sure. She's a bad ***** for that.

Guys tap in that situation though. Matt Hughes quick tapped to BJ if I remember correctly.

Fatigue makes cowards of men is the saying I was thinking when this fight was near its end. I think he was getting hit nicely too. I think the poor takedown he did was a poor & ill advised attempt to avoid potentially getting KO'd or to try to catch a breather, but with his poor ground skills (this isn't his first quick tap out if you are a casual MMA fan) it was like handing a baseball bat to your enemy & straight out asking them to hit you with it.
My old trainer Merhav Mohar used to say that all the time. He would always say, " dont give yourself an excuse to quit because you didnt train as hard as you could or you'blew your load"

he is supposed to be a martial artist.....everyone knows choking is a part of MMA so why not train to defend it even if you dont grapple
