Floyd always made adjustments and adapted to any style, but he is 39 and retired why take the risk?!

Floyd knows he avoids guys with a size advantage. No disrespect to Floyd. Size matters.
Look at Margarito, look at Paul Williams. Floyd doesn't want to fight guys who are bigger than him. He avoids those guys.
Could he drain Golovkin down and get a weight advantage? That's his only hope. GGG offered 154 at one point, so maybe Floyd puts it out there. But maybe Golovkin really can drain down successfully and still perform. Just maybe. I don't see Floyd taking that chance.
We'll see. I'm hoping he stays retired like he should.

Golovkin-Mayweather would be a whitewash in Mayweather's favour. Golovkin wouldn't even be able to touch him, especially if Floyd desides to use his backpedalling counter punching style from the get go.
Golovkin will look lost and frustrated just like Cotto, Canelo, Maidana 2, Pacquiao, Marquez, Mosley, and Dela Hoya (can't believe they said that fight was close when the guy landed less than half of Floyd's landed punches).
It's always the same story with Floyd. They say he too scared to take the fight, then when he signs the contract they make fun of him for how he gonna get knocked out and/or outboxed. Then when he wins they cry robbery or cherry picking.
Same story here. Floyd gonna come back from retirement next year in May and fight Golovkin not at 154, but at 160 (He's already been hinting at it), then they gonna say, "who has Golovkin beat anyway?"
Overall i agree, they would already have excuses the instant the fight is announced similar to the way FloydCanelo was announced...it was "Floyds gonna duck Canelo." Fight announced. "Woah woah wait a minute..hes green. canelos green" Lol it was rapid 180 in opinion from Floyds haterbase. I predict similar if a GGG fight ever came off.."Floyds ducking GGG" Fight announced "wait a minute. Who has GGG beat anyway" Lol

Im sure people say Floyd ducked jmm, hatton, or past prime dlh and past it SSM as well. People say that cos Floyd weren't fighting much so he's just scared in general.
But it hard to make excuses as to GGG being green or not that high a risk. For nelo it was easy. He wasnt a top p4p fighter. Couldn't ko old man SSM so why should Floyd worry! GGG stops everyone so hard to criticise that. Floyd wouldn't stop them. So your excuse who had GGG fought isn't washing with anyone
Floyd will get more credit for GGG, so fight ggg , beat GGG and then do the worryinging afterLast edited by hugh grant; 03-09-2016, 05:35 PM.

I dont get why any boxing fan thinks Floyd shouldnt take the fight.
If Floyd is meant to be one of the best ever, he should take on opponents who arent huge underdogs.
Judging by this and many other threads, its a very interesting fight. Difficult to call.

I think this is a winnable fight for Mayweather. Golovkin beats fighters that break down as soon as they feel his power. Mayweather has been hurt before and each time his reponse is to fight hard and avoid whatever punch that hurt him. Unless he gets caught with one punch, I don't see him losing to anyone by decision. By the way, Golovkin is supposed to beat a smaller, older Mayweather so picking him isn't a stretch. However, I think most people are underestimating Mayweather once again.
