All fighters have some rust after significant time away from the ring. If observers say they didn't notice any rust when they tuned into BET to watch Ward fight Paul Smith, it's probably because he was fighting Paul Smith.

If you're going to insert your assumptions and conclusions then you have to accept it when others do the same. Otherwise it's just biased fanboy/hater bullshyt.

I disagreed with Sillakh's opinion, some posters disagreed with mine. It's called debating. My finishing argument is, we'll see on fight night who's opinion is correct.

Ward would absolutely not go through the likes of Stevenson, Beterbiev and Kovalev...

He would go through the likes of Barrera, Fonfara, Gonzalez, Pascal, Shabranskyy with ease and then call it a night to not face the aforementioned ones...

Was it the known badass prospect of 4 years ago, or the present rusty, post-surgery Ward that he sparred? Likewise for Barrera; when in his career did he spar him? Like I said, we won't know if Ward is still all that until fight night. I'm betting he's lost something between all that time off and shoulder surgery.

            Fixed.....

..... and this is despite the fact that there is nothing whatsoever to indicate that could/would happen..... and despite the fact that Ward has signed a 3-fight deal ending with Kovalev.

              cool story genius

              Golovkin fan, right ?

                    You mean Ward and Barrera?

Barrera was seen as an easy mando for Kovalev. Then he signed to fight Ward instead and turned into a 175lb version of Rigo.

... this also... he gets a pass doe, because I hear that Ward needs to accommodate at 175... But wtf? The guy was the Olympic LHW champion!?!
