Showtime is royally screwed. They lost more then 50% of their viewers from a year ago.

In fairness, Showtime Special Edition shows aren't the same as BADs. BADs have world title fights. Showtime Special Editions are closer to ShoBox shows - inexpensive shows mainly for the hardcore.

I would equate Showtime Special Editions to HBO Boxing After Dark. There weren't any Special Editions in 2015 as far as I know, but there were 4 at the end of 2014, and the last 3 were headlined by a title fight (Barthelemy-Saucedo IBF 130, Lara-Smith WBA 154, Stevenson-Sukhotsky WBC 175).

Special Editions are secondary to Showtime Championship Boxing like Boxing After Dark is secondary to HBO World Championship Boxing.

Hahaha...my point exactly. Barthelemy? Ishe Smith? Sukhotsky? Those aren't names equivalent to BAD...and most of all, they're cheap. Special Editions are elevated ShoBoxes.

True, but then again who is Tony Thompson?

                  The peak numbers are in:

                  Ortiz-Thompson: 807k
                  Vargas-Ali: 848k

Heavyweight destroyer Luis Ortiz's sixth-round knockout of Tony Thompson on Saturday night in Washington, D.C., averaged 740,000 viewers on HBO for the live airing, with a peak of 807,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is a 20 percent rise in viewership from Ortiz's previous HBO appearance in his exciting seventh-round knockout of Bryant Jennings on Dec. 19, which averaged 616,000 viewers. Welterweight Jessie Vargas' hard-fought ninth-round knockout of Sadam Ali to win a vacant world title in the co-feature averaged 726,000 viewers with a peak of 848,000 viewers.

and idiots here think HBO is doing bad. you should be more worried about showtime. LOL at this rate showtime may just exit the boxing business completely they are in ruins that's what they get for working with the devil named al gaymon.
