An over the hill, smaller Cotto.

He ain't showed any improvement.... Who has he outboxed??

Lara, trout, and Cotto all couldn't beat canelo vs a guy that has been outboxed by floyd, Devon, khan, morales..

Remember when ortiz was kicking the crap out of Maidana all over the place before he folded,, canelo ain't folding and is much much better than ortiz..

Maidana will get paid nicely but canelo will abuse him at 155

Canelo has a solid chin himself, and he gets hit more often than he should, but who has he fought that lands intense bombs? Other than Floyd and Canelo, his opposition is mediocre. Lara didn't press so we don't know what would have happened if he came forward with ill intentions. Trout? Negative.

Maidana has been in the ring with monsters. Crossed paths with lions.
More than Canelo has. Maidana has a solid chin but the only time Canelo has been in any danger in around 50 fights he was getting hit flush when clearly hurt on the ropes and didn't go down. I don't see how Maidana has a better chin, at worst it's even.

Mediocre opposition lol Canelo has fought borderline murderer's row, which will be confirmed by fighting Golovkin in September.

Canelo would win, not a hard one to judge.

This isn't even close, Canelo would ruin him.

Maidana does not have a better chin, not even close: dropped twice by Ortiz, hurt by Broner and if memory serves me correctly, he was buzzed by an old, blown up Morales?

Canelo is the far better boxer with better defence, better upper body movement, faster hands, more variation, more physical strength, a better chin....He would dominate.

out of 50 fights, Canelo has like 3 good wins. Murderer's row? Don't be ridiculous lol.

At worst chins are dead even. I don't put any stock in Canelo's size and weight advantages because I don't think they matter in this fight, especially with Maidana dropping weight and having to drop less weight to get to 155 than 147. Maidana will come rock solid and ripped, and put a beating on Canelo that will change his outlook on life forever.

Maidana is third world rich now after the floyd fights.. He isn't going to have the hunger to stay in a war with the bigger stronger canelo.

                  Hurt by Broner? When?

Maidana came back to beat Ortiz and Morales both.

Canelo is neither a "far" better boxer, nor has better defense. faster hands and more variation are arguable. Definitely less strength, and not a better chin. He wouldn't dominate at all. If Canelo wins, it would be one of those bitter-sweet wins, he will spend the night in the hospital and Maidana will walk out of the ring eating cookies.

More than once against Victor Ortiz. I think Maidana's chin is solid but you have no case to make that it's better than Canelo's.

He was hurt badly by Broner in the 12th, and he admitted so.

Getting up to beat a very average, and chinny, Victor Ortiz isn't anything to brag about. Getting hurt by an old, very small and completely shot Morales is even less to write home about.

Canelo is simply levels above Maidana in every aspect of boxing, skill and physical. He would have no trouble whatsoever is beating Maidana from pillar to post. I'm genuinely not even sure if this thread is serious or trolling
