Billy Joe Saunders plans to use the first defence of his WBO middleweight title against Max Bursak on April 30 to build towards a stadium fight in July.

The 26-year-old produced the finest performance of his career to defeat defending champion Andy Lee via majority decision in December.

And after insisting he has lost interest in a rematch with Chris Eubank Jnr - who he claims has rejected several offers to challenge him - he plans to pursue one of the sport's biggest names.

    Why?
    Why talk GGG now?
Ah, you need to sell "the Bursak fight". OK.

Has an agreement in place like he had before and nothing came from it. KLets hope he doesnt accept another step aside and get another guy he doesnt know to fight.

Go watch UFC then. Have said many times dont care if im the only one watching this sport.

What other mandos has he fought that took precedence over a bigger fight? I'm not aware of any. What fight has he given up?

He's not pursuing the dream? How so? As far as I know, he only received 1 step aside fee from Cotto. I can understand why - he wants the belts, but he also wants the Lineal. If he forced the strip, everyone would rail on him for not earning his belt. Now some people are railing on him for not forcing the strip. He can't win, so he's doing what makes sense long term.

I'm guessing his patience is running a slow as yours by now, and if Canelo wont commit in May, he's gonna force the strip.

He had no agreement in place before..he was the number one ranked guy when Cotto fought Canelo...pretty obvious and logical to take the step aside money and let them fight knowing neither is gonna fight him instead...free money...

Now he has an agreement with Canelo and the WBC..if Canelo decides to not fight which I assume he will for this year at least then hopefully he fights Saunders and Jacobs in the meantime..

What other guys are actively chasing fights with every other title holder in their division? Welter is not happening. 154 nope...168... Maybe if Jack and Degale get at it...175 not happening....140 nope...135 who knows...126 nope...122 nope....

So as much as you hate the guy at least he wants to unify his divison and fight the best guys he can..if they don't want it, it's not his fault.. And now he has nobody to move up for that's a big name big money fight does he?

34 years old an nothing to show for it.

Guess my patience is running out. I said before that he has the skills and passes the eye test and i would love to see him against the elite boys....that was 2 years ago.

No hate at all. Im a fan no matter how much you boys think im not. I just hear "great MW, can take on the ATG's, P4P ranked", etc.. and i wanna see it.

Hes 34 so hes not a young guy and time isnt on his side. We may never know how good he really is

All true but take into account who says those things....

He needs to fight Jacobs and Canelo...then maybe move to 68 or hope some of the boys with names from 154 are middleweights by then...

You act like people who are his fans don't want him to fight these guys...I'm a fan of his(not a nut hugger) and trust me I'm sick of these fights...I was fine with Lemieux, he was a champion...Monroe was garbage and this one is too.. But he had a guy turn down 3 million, Canelo stalling, and Johnson got injured and pulled out of his Mando position.. Sometimes circumstances prevent things from happening or in this case to happen with Wade... Unfortunately GGG seems to be on this run of crap opponents

With Lemiux, though i didnt know he still fought, I said that was a step in the right direction cause he was champion and won an exciting fight so why not. PPV was a joke but thats another subject all together And now we here watching him take steps backwards.

168 has bigger names with bigger rewards. If no one wants to fight you then you go find the fights not accept whatever but thats GGG.
