Sure it happens, Garcia v Khan for example but we've also seen guys parachute into the arena and gusu jump through the ropes out of the ring.

With hundreds of fights every year to are going to a bit of everything but this idea that a slow guy can regularly bet a much faster fighter with similar reach is simple not true.

    Where are the examples ?

9 times out of ten the faster guy wins.

    ^^ yeah.

    anyways
    lets just say
    Fighter A: speed = 3, timing = 4
    Fighter B: speed = 5, timing = 3

then fighter A wins because hes slower but his timings better.
    keeping all else equal.
    hypothetically.

LMFAO at thinking NSB made "Timing>Speed" up

I can take you back to Pep vs Saddler in which Saddler sure he used dirty tactics but his timing and ability to cut the ring off is why he had Pep Number

of course you have Frazier timing Ali and catching him with some big shots, this gif if a perfect exact of Ali's hand speed vs Frazier Timing that Left Hook

Impact energy divided by distance your head travels after it is hit equals impact force.

So if you time your shots to land as the fighter's weight is coming forward the force is exponentially higher.

Timing vs speed is exactly what Vernon Forrest quoted that he was going to use against Mosley and he did just that. History is filled with examples of timing beats speed.

Julio Cesar Chavez beat a lot of fast guys by working there body to slow them down just look at what he did to Meldrik Taylor

I agree in theory...But Saddler had Pep's number and that number was age...Nothing else.

Naseem Vs Barrera is a great example...Judah Vs Floyd

What the thread starter is failing to comprehend is that the faster guys usually have the better timing..It's why they developed a "fast" style

Yes Barrera vs Naseem is a good one also

Yes Saddler did catch Pep at the right time as far as age that is true but a Older Pep was still very sharp and very slick

Regardless of any specific examples, the truth here lies in something fundamental. "Timing" is landing a strike at the opportune moment. Speed is a component of timing but, on it's own, is nothing without timing. Trying to say that there is such a thing as timing vs speed shows a misunderstanding of the science.

Timing just beat speed again. Jessie fcking Vargas just timed him all night and not only beat him but got the KO. That right hand he landed was the same Marquez landed on Pacquiao, if Jessie no power Vargas can seriously hurt an opponent with that same punch just imagine what Manny felt when Marquez who has power felt when he got hit
