first of all, for this hypothetical scenario to be concise, we would require the boxer's family to also be brewed boxers and a known family brand name. early in Floyd's career commentators were talking about Roger, Jeff, and Floyd Sr. as in presenting their family's new prodigy...and one who was winning 3 golden glove nationals and going to the Olympics being robbed Roy Jones Jr. style

In America, white families that fit this criteria get movies made about them.

And Eminem is also legitimately one of the best rappers of all time, maybe he's just that good? Regardless of whether or not you like his music, alot of people did and he had a crazy following of kids, his lyricism still hit it with the hiphop heads, he rapped about other sht besides "stickin up foo's" to connect with the whiteboys, and the flow for most to enjoy, he just reached further globally than most rappers who put themselves in a bubble looking only to cater to "gangsters" or blacks. BTW, the second highest grossing rapper is Kanye west at around 121 million to Eminem's 155 millions sold. Also note Eminem has been active since 1996, Kanye West dropped his first Album in 2004.

And so what if the Beastie Boys sold real well? One of Will Smiths albums was 1million away from certified diamond and he's in the same ballpark with his "rap". If the music hits with the masses, it hits with the masses.

And who cares if Jay Z never went diamond? I've been a rap head before and the guy has always been boring as turd. Nas > Jay Z

Wiz Khalifa's "See you again" is also tied with the Black Eyed Pea's "Boom Boom Pow", Usher's "Yeah!" and Eminem's "lose Yourself", as the longest rap singles at number 1 at 12 weeks in the US's Billboard 100's. Followed by Puff Daddy's "I'll be missing you", Flo Rida's "Low", Kanye' West's "Gold digger" and Nelly's "Dilemma". In the Billboard list, Vanilla Ice's "Ice ice baby" held the number 1 spot for 1 week, in the billboard 200 where it held it's 16 weeks, MC Hammer's album is the longest reigning rap album at 21 weeks and sold 18 million copies, both him and Van Winkle are more or less in the same boat.

I'm not saying racism doesn't exist, but I don't think it's as simple as "Eminem is sht, he's only popular because he's white". You'd have to be a legit devout racist to let race get in the way of you enjoying some music. I also don't think people just hate Mayweather because he's black like alot of the Floydboys will have you believe.

That's because the african american community has produced the best and most exciting fighters over the decades, especially when you count the heavyweight division.

How many white boxers have reached the levels of prime mayweather, ray robinson, ray leaneard, mike tyson, mohamed ali, joe frazer, george foreman, pernerll whitaker, lennox lewis (british but of african descent), bernard hopkins, roy jones, james toney, and the list goes on and on and on.

There have been no doubt some good white boxers, but come on, how many in comparison, and how many have reached those levels?

African Americans are dominant in sports and generally entertainment (music etc) and european americans are dominant in...well, everything else it seems. That's just the way it is thus far. Things can change at both spectrums in the future, but that's what we got right now.
