Except for the fact Mark Breland was a good fighter and Jeff Lacy wasn't.

I'm no advocate for Lacy but to completely ignore the circumstances are wrong. Lacy by no means was a push over.
I know but why is this fight so talked about instead of the Hopkins fight? He came to America and got up off the canvas and beat Hopkins. I just don't get the celebration of the Lacy fight.

This was an all-time high/low in NSB.

While I thought the fight might be competitive, I was never impressed with Lacy... but I'd log into NSB after shaky performances and read how he was "top ten P4P".

I wonder, can you guess who 90% of NSB said would win this fight, most by early KO?

        Hilarious.

ill always wonder what a great fighter he would have been if his hands weren't destroyed and he didn't need to use that weird slappy punching style

speed and rhythm are off the charts just hard to watch the form of those punches

While I think Lacy WAS overhyped, I don't know why people talk about what he did after this fight as if it had any standing on him.

Such a high % of boxing is mental as well as physical... when the guy was systematically taken apart over 12 rounds he was never going to be the same.

The fights he's cited as struggling in during the Lacy bout are Sheika and Thompson.

I didn't think he struggled against Pemberton, but he missed a **** load, and it was clear that Pemberton let himself be counted out, having turned up, past his best, for a pay day.

I logged onto NSB and read how Lacy was around 6th P4P.
