The bar was lowered by the fighters themselves. With the idea that they can pick and choose any opponent when and where they want to fight and pathetic excuses like letting a fight marinate, money not being right or the fighter being boring. Which is why i dont blame people for switching over to ufc.

that's not the fighters, that's the networks and the promoters. when the networks emphasize "excitement" over winning, what else do you expect.

WHen Gabe Rosado and Hank Lundy can get on TV as much as Postol and Walters something is wrong. When Rigo can't get on TV but Provodnikov fights 3 times a year on TV, something is wrong.

When was the last time Rigo even fought twice in one year? Provos past couple fights werent even televised in the U.S. How has lundy been on as much as walters? Walters hasnt even been active. It has nothing to do with his fights not being televised. Your not exactly bringing up valid points except the bold part. Promoters and networks are somewhat to blame. But if a fighter really wanted a certain fight he'd make some kind of attempt or at least be really vocal about it.

                      Absolutely pathetic. Screw this dude.

First, he stinks it up badly in a HUGE profile fight (admitting he knew it was going to be boring all along) and then he blatantly ducks Rigo. I will not watch another fight of his unless it's Rigo. I have no interest in this farce.

Fighters get away with all this "business decision" talk because their fanbases indulge them. It was never as bad as it is now. We let it get to this stage. I mean, some of the guys seem to have no competitive spirit at all.
