It's funny the Canelo detractors act as if Canelo chose 155 lbs. specifically as away to "duck" Golovkin or "drain" him. Even though he's been fighting at that weight since 2014!!! Way back when Golovkin wasn't even in the picture or the middleweight championship.

You know what I imagine? Canelo detractors imagining Canelo waking up the day after he fought Mayweather and saying to himself, "Holy shit! One day I'm gonna become the WBC middleweight champion, and I may have to face the monster that is Golovkin.... I know! I better start asking for a catch weight of 155 lbs. starting right now so that when I do have to face him, he'll be drained!" Cue maniacal laugh...

We can't know how someone will react to fighting 5 pounds below their natural weight, a weight they've never fought below. It's the biggest draining i've ever heard of anyway. If you have a middleweight belt, defend it at middleweight. This isn't hard to understand.

All we want is the best to fight the best, with no crafty bull**** to weaken a fighter. Let the best fight the best and the best man win.

Why the hell is nelo wanting a cw? He isn't protecting a zero! If you aren't worried about a zero like the guy nelo lost to you need to fight at GGG weight to get credit and become as top ten fighter. Which nelo currently isnt

See that's where people are not understanding. Canelo isn't going to give GGG the advantage, but GGG's fans don't want GGG to give Canelo the advantage, they want the other way around. Mark my works, it's not going to happen. If GGG wants the fight, he's going to have to fight Canelo with that disadvantage. He wants the big fight, big money, the titles, the huge PPV numbers, then give in to Canelo's demands like every other B-side before him did when trying to make big fights. If GGG doesn't accept the terms, this will be a big Winky Wright moment for him. For Canelo, he'll be fine, he doesn't need anyone to be the biggest star after Pac retires. His career is set, his role in boxing is concrete, he will be the star of boxing, he's already #2.
Canelo walks around at 190 lbs and you claim he makes 155 comfortably, you're blind if you can't see why he has his own 155 lb weight class. He does it to give himself an advantage, nothing more.

Like he did with Angulo, Lara, Kirkland? If anything it helped them out.

If he beats Canelo then he'll take his place as the top PPV attraction in the sport. It seems to me like the reward is well worth the risk.

It does? Why doesn't GGG feel the risk isn't worth the reward, in your opinion?
