Whats the point of even having weight divisions anymore?

I hate the A-side mentality, but at the end of the day, it's not like someone put a gun on anyone's head to take a fight...they sold their athletic integrity for a payday....I would respect Golvokin more if he had had Alvarez stripped...If he had, Canelo wouldn't have a trinket to dangle in front of Khan and would lose a lot of money fighting any other fighter(except maybe Cotto).
Besides Sam Langford at 5'7'' beat much larger men...if you know how to fight you can beat them......
I'm not saying weakening an opponent is good, it's for pu55ies actually, but selling your ass for a payday is being a whore, so there. Two wrongs really.Comment

Since we have fans who think its ok for a fighter to just make up his own weightclass because "he's the a side, he calls the shots, he took the short end of the stick, so now he can short others", why not just do away with divisions all together and then fighters can just hammer out deals and fight anyone at any agreed weight?
Then you factor in that these same weenie fans say belts don't matter anymore, and it makes even more sense to do away with divisions. We don't need champions anymore, we can just count up the dollars the fighter made to determine who is the best, right?Comment
