  • Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather: I Won't Bash Adrien Broner

Floyd Mayweather Jr. promotes Ashley Theophane, the junior welterweight who will face titleholder Adrien Broner on April 1 on Spike TV from the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C. Broner, who considers Mayweather a friend, said at a Feb. 29 press conference that for now Mayweather was an enemy because he wanted Broner to lose.

Nah, don't bash Broner, that's no fun at all.

Bash Golovkin again and tell us about how easily you would have beaten him. It makes me laugh when you do that.

I picked up on the subtle diss in that statement too. Mayweather can't help being a pr*ck even when he tries to be nice.

If Broner beats Theopane, Mayweather will come out of retirement to avenge him

Anyone know why Floyd is so confident in Theo? Is it false confidence, is Floyd just trying to build a UK brand and he has to start with a rugged journeyman who's never been KO'ed, and then he's going to build from there? You'd think to start a successful company, you hire amateurs and build them, get some UK standout amateurs. I wonder if Floyd genuinely sees something in Theopane or what. He's not a terrible fighter by any means, but he could go in there and get stopped more likely than him stopping Broner. He has to make it ugly and decision Broner, Broner gets uncomfortable with really active fighters.
