Boxing just does not excite me right now.

First half of the year was going to be bad just based off the schedule. The good matchups wont happen until late April or May. That's when we'll get Wilder-Povetkin, Lomachenko vs. Walters, Thurman vs. Porter, Canelo vs. Khan etc.
March isn't looking that good other than Ward vs. Barrera.Comment

It's just you man.Am I the only one who is almost burnt out by boxing right now? This past weekend we had cards on both networks and both were completely one sided cards. I didnt fall for the Lundy trash talk either. Dont get me wrong im still going to watch all the main cards but it just seems like boxing is headed in a boring direction. When PBC is putting on more competitive fights then hbo you know something is off
Hopefully its just part of the late winter when nothing happens boxing wise but lets be honest even the spring schedule is bla. What do you guys think?
Boxing has never been more alive, to me.
Fury taking the HW division by storm.
Maidana making a return to WW.
Bradley/Pac III.
The rise of Verdejo.
The fall of swagswag.
The end of the cold war.Comment

I'm glad to see this because I made a post about this very thing in a thread last night about the HBO card. It's not just you. Boxing is not exciting me at all lately. I think the loss of Floyd and Manny is a big part of it, because those two (for the most part) were always against top competition. Whether you liked or hated them, they weren't protected to the degree that a lot of these hyped guys are right now. Why? Because their teams/promoters knew that they were *legitimately great fighters*. Thurman, Garcia, Crawford, Wilder etc....they're good fighters, but are they great? I don't think so. And we'll never know because today's business plan is to just coast them along at the level they're already at, beating on no-hopers. It's not interesting or exciting in any way. I'm so f***ing tired of mismatches and boring fights. It's worse than bad - it's BORING. There are some fights I still want to catch, but as a whole the sport has fallen off drastically as of late. Someone...anyone!...please breath some life into this corpse of a sport. We need personalities and good matchups. Right now we have neither.Comment

Disagree, there are always worthy fights to be found and/or be involved in. Blockbuster fights are not for every weekend and everything involves a lot of politics and shit these days. Dust up smaller cards, go to a gym, there are always new prospects to follow depending on where you're located.Comment

i thought i was the only one.
for a minute i thought i was actually losing my love for boxing but its just the fact that there are no intriguing match ups.
before i would be all up on boxing news websites, youtube, social media, etc. but as of late havent even bothered with it. nothing to talk about...nothing exciting.
boxers as of late are taking the safety first approach to there careers.Comment
