Do you dislike Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman? I find them artificial, too formal, etc

I remember Larry Merchant who was ODing on pretentiousness so I can't hate too hard on anyone else on the HBO team. Having said that Lampley seems like a cardboard cutout with a nice voice who happened upon a boxing announcing career that would define his life & maybe he'd be better off as some sort of male Vanna White or if he was smarter talking about politics on FoxNews or CNN or something.

Personally I like Kellerman. I think he's a passionate guy about boxing which is something I can understand, I like & I can appreciate. Whenever I think about Kellerman I think about how far he's come from talking about boxing when he was 14 or whatever on that NY public access show & how he's maybe the only guy on this HBO team who was destined for that job regardless if I disagree with him about any of his opinions.

LOL, but yea. I don't know if the heads of HBO boxing have gradually over a period of time whispered into Lampley's ear to say & angle things a certain way or if Lampley took it upon himself to take this sorta role, but for sure he's in charge of HBO Propaganda. BUT the thing is I think you want that, as bad as that job might sound to some fans.

The reality is fans like the propaganda/hype. People are dying for propaganda/hype that they can either believe in or **** on when it comes up short, but gets people excited for the moment when the event is happening which is the main thing people will remember.

I tend to believe Joe Rogan being the voice of the UFC has helped make the UFC what it is today. You can say he's in charge of UFC propaganda. Showtime could probably use a guy like that. PBC should probably find someone who can better play that role for all PBC fights.

Hate his guts. Dude works for HBO because his dad is rich and connected.

Dude is a smug, obnoxious groupie. I CANNOT STAND when he name drops a fighter from the 70s or 80s whose DVDs hes been watching recently when calling a fight.

        Brandon Rios said it best

He's always talking ****, saying stuff in my face like ‘Oh Brandon, you're this, this and that. You've won this and that.' He's a ****ing pretender. I don't give a **** if HBO makes you say **** or not, you don't say that type of ****.

I haven't watched the HBO card from tonight yet, but hopefully it's not that bad.
He's not bigoted at all. Sure he's biased, all commentators are. But they're not their own bosses and I'm sure the people up top tell them who to cheerlead for.

            Trash team.

They've improved a bit since Merchant ain't there, so you don't have to hear that loser take 3 rounds to finish a sentence that doesn't even make sense.

            - Jim Lampely? Straight garbage.

            - Max Kellerman? He is a "High End" Casual. Sure, he'll name drop fighters from the 70s and 80s, but it never makes sense in the context of what he is trying to say. Comes across as a guy who watches youtube clips of the fighters in the 70s and 80s an basis his opinion on their career on 1 or 2 fights.

            Trash team.

The best HBO broadcast was Lampley and Merchant during the Mayweather-Gatti fight. Floyd left them speechless

                    I like them both.

I like some of Max's interviews. The May-Pac one was straight, honest and in your face. I also liked how Jim had mentioned last night that the political divide was melting when talking about Crawford's potential opponents on the Haymon side. I was surprised they let him say that.

Roy is cool. My favorite of all three. He sometimes checks them both.
