Of course they cut back their budget. They are losing a billion dollars a year on that deal they made with the Dodgers. 70% of Dodgers fans can't even watch the Dodgers. DirectTV needs to cut a deal with Time Warner so I can get my boxing back. And most importantly watch my damn Dodgers play.

Let the schedule fill itself in. Broner-Theophane is heading to SpikeTV; Beyond that, Stevenson-Fonfara II, Berto-Peterson, Thurman-Porter, Charlo-Jackson, Jack-ChavezJr, and a host of other fights already in the cue.

PBC may be cutting back their schedule; I just think that it's far too early in the year to make that inference.

Let's see if those fights get made, and if they do, how many go to Showtime, and how many go to the other networks.

I am not claiming to have any inside info or anything, but there were somewhat major shows just about every week for a while. That's come to a screeching halt.

They have 4 major shows set up, and that's me counting the card that got cancelled (which happens) and counting Broener-Theophane as a "major" show.

We'll see what happens. Maybe they announce 10 shows this week, they're tighter with info than the CIA.

According to Fat Dan, Time Warner had some cutbacks and the HBO Sports budget took the worst hit. I can only imagine where HBO Boxing is heading at this point.

Leo Santa Cruz beating up on a blown up, washed up Kiko Martinez and a guy who got blown out by one punch in 10 seconds and an alleged bantamweight FOTC where one guy didn't throw a punch for 6 rounds.

Yeah, I can't say that card really knocked my socks off.

Didnt even watch last nights card. None of these upcoming fights excite me at all theyre all just ehhhh. Thurman Porter aint gonna happen. I guess watching amir do the bambi on ice is always entertaining but the fight itself is garbage. Hopefully cotto/marquez gets made

I'm just really burnt out on boxing at the moment. I'm not excited by the landscape at all as it stands right now. When I got into boxing (only recently...2013), there seemed like so much to be excited about. I felt like both sides (Showtime and HBO) were putting on quality cards. Now we're getting what seem to me to be very low quality fights everywhere around the board. I also felt like Floyd and Manny, love em or hate em (and I've loved and hated them both at various times) brought excitement; their fights were like the big "playoff game" type moments in the boxing year. Now one's gone and the other is likely to lose and then retire. I just don't care about Crawford vs. no hopers and the entirety of the PBC. It's junk. There are still "can't miss" fighters like Canelo, GGG, Cotto, but it's not much. I was utterly bored by everything that was on today, and maybe it's just me :/. I am disappointed that I feel this way, because I've been super into boxing for the past couple years.

I agree, bro. There hasn't been a good fight in years! Last fight I watched that I could watch 0ver and over was Marquez vs. Pacquiao IV. I remember my friends getting excited and making plans 2 weeks before a fight happened. Now, everyone is like "nah, not watching it.... who is that? boxing got boring.....etc." Went from boxing house parties to 2-3 people. Shyt, even the Canelo vs. Cotto was boring as fahk. I think it's gonna be just me who watches Pacquiao vs. Bradley.... nobody is else is watching it.

I didn't even bother watching the Verdejo fight - he's a solid fighter, but I'm just not entertained and that's partly by the level of comp. I'm aware he's still coming up, I just think maybe he should be coming up on regular cable (tru tv) instead and fill that slot with a better match. Crawford - Lundy was pointless.

I am looking forward to Ali-Vargas and somewhat for Ward-Berrera. But they paid Bud 1.2 to fight a lightweight, I mean, did PBC host this fight? It's okay to throw money around for **** fights when you have the investors, but I don't think HBO is in that position. If Time Warner cut their budget, they're not managing the money very well so far.

I agree with you in that there isn't much to be excited for. After Canelo vs Cotto there has been nothign left and I don't see anything exciting coming up soon and on a regular basis hell no

Boxing is going down the tubes because of divas wanting to make millions when they should be making a couple hundred grand per fight if they are upper echelon guys. Only the most elite boxers should make over a million per fight, instead every up and comer wants to make 2 million a fight.

No company's budget can sustain that but the precedent has been set. The mentality of most of these guys is to fight the easiest opponent while making the millions of dollars so the quality of the fights goes down and so does appreciation of the sport.
