Between Showtime and the PBC cards, I get to chose from 70 fight cards to sit and watch.

Have fun with HBO's schedule; doubt that they put up 20 shows this year (though I will be tuning in for the Ward fight cards).

PBC has 4 big shows booked for the first four months. The Fox Sports one cards are small time (I actualy think they're doing a good job with them for what they are). They were supposed to have monthly shows on ESPN and Spike, they're going to go a good 3-4 months at least between shows now. And what about all that Saturday afternoon boxing? Or the cards on NBCSN?

PBC cutting back may end up being a blessing for them in the long run, but they are clearly cutting back.

When was the last great non-ppv HBO card from top to bottom?

They don't have the budget to carry big fights anymore. So they need to build fighters to PPV status. Expect this trend to continue.

I completely agree with you. Verdejo sucks bro, for real. He had a punching bag in front of him, and still was hesitant to up the activity and looked average. The kid lacks fire, and I have a feeling he lacks heart as well. I think a Margarito style opponent (who is at least a LEVEL C fighter) will break him and he would happily quit.

Lundy is even worse than I thought, then again Crawford keeps picking on smaller fighters so what can we expect.

I don't want to see any of them again on HBO or TV for that matter.

The internet boxing community is not saying much about all the HBO mismatches coming up maybe is cause HBO mismatches are cheaper , So just because Santa Cruz got $1 million dollar for his mismatch last night Crawford and HBO get no heat

i thoroughly enjoyed the verdejo and crawford fights.

beautiful boxing by verdejo against a guy who was there just to survive and crawford closed the show against a fighter in hank that was there to fight win lose or draw.

verdejo has so much upside. him and crawford in 2 years is THE fight.

Yea it was not the best card for sure. I think anyone who knows **** about boxing knew that going in doe. Crawford shouldn't be fighting Lundy type cats these days & Lundy shouldn't be fighting Crawford type cats these days. That screamed mismatch from day 1.

And Verdejo is kinda like in a position similar as Spence is these days. Both are great talents, but they are still fighting guys who are wayyy beneath the type of guys I think most fans feel like they should be fighting. Spence seems to be taking a step up next time out. Verdejo needs to take a step up too & I suspect he will soon.

All in all you are gonna get these type of cards sometimes in boxing cuz some cats are looking for softer fights, to build up a fight, cuz another fight got canceled or isn't doable right now so it is what it is. Anyone worth their salt in boxing knew Showtime had the better show last night & that HBO was the show to download today so its whatever.
