Because other fighters who did it where actually great at their previous weightclass. Khan isnt even top 5 at 147, he got knocked out at 140 twice. What has he done at 147? Totally average guy moving up doesnt compare to some great fighters who did it in the past.

That's half true. Maidana did NOT pay a second sanctioning fee. So even if he won, he would not have received the 154 belt. He only paid for the 147 belts.

Just the fact that the WBC was going to allow it is troubling. It seems they do strange things if the fighter has enough star power. When Cotto dropped the belt, Canelo should not have been able to earn the belt with a win over Cotto @ 155. Now Canelo is defending the title fighting a CW fight with a WW who isn't even a champ at his own weight! I'm not mad at Canelo, but I lay the blame on the WBC.

Khan is grabbing the money fight while the fight is available. He's no idiot. Isn't he getting like 5 MIL? Wake up, Mr. Farhood...you're living in the 80s-90s when there was still dignity in fighters....those days are LONG GONE.

People have caught on, if you're gonna get punched in the face for a living, then male the most ****ing money you can EVERY tine you do it.

That's ALL that matters to fighters, if you believe different you're living in a Disney Land.
