He hits very hard, boxes and moves pretty well, and counter punches with authority. Where he lacks, is he's not very good on the back foot, against faster opponents, but this won't be a problem with the bigger Wilder as the fight SHOULD be fought mid to close range, where the Windmills won't be effective.

Wilder is obviously bigger, and can also hit. Despite the lack of an effective jab (was only apparent against a very slow Stiverne), he keeps distance very well in spurts. But his technique is seriously lacking, and Spzilka, a seriously limited opponent, showed how a smaller opponent can easily outbox him. He punches so wide so often, he actually fell over in his last fight. Spzilka landed a fair few counter punches, which Povetkin should be able to deliver with power. Wilder fought tall against Stiverne, a Lara-esque performance (Lara-Canelo) until he could land the occasional right hand. He could employ the same tactics against Povetkin, but Povetkin is a much better fighter as proven, faster and can cut off the ring. We know one hard punch from either can end the fight, but Povetkin has shown to have some whiskers (taking some solid shots from Wlad, and numerous from Huck). Both him and Povetkin have shown to fight for a full 12 rounds.

Its definitely intriguing, only in the sense that we all want to know if Wilder can improve. It's a little silly to question why Povetkin would be the favourite - he's proven a lot more at the top level.
I agree with this post right here...especially the parts that I emphasized. I still need to see Wilder improve as I was there live for that Szpilka fight and I saw how he was able to slip and duck a good number of Wilder's punches early in the fight. That part where he kept reaching at Szpilka and ended up falling is not a good look...

Wilder needs to be more secure in his stance when he throws punches like that. It's like he has little confidence in his legs.

I can't wait to see what happens in this fight as I favor Povetkin to win this one...

I find the cricket sounds from certain cats who were talking about Wilder vacating previous to this news funny. Same thing when the Thurman vs Porter fight got made, although they came back after the car accident, but I promise you they will be cricket sounding once that fight has a new date.

Granted I'd agree its a solid strategy to avoid looking like a idiot often doe so I understand. And if I was saying dumb **** on a regular basis I'd probably selectively disappear from threads I'd jump in all day as long when things were following the narrative I was promoting way too confidently.
