    Today in Miami, the WBC is conducting a purse bid for the WBC World Heavyweight Championship, with Champion Deontay Wilder facing mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.

    So 63% Wilder/27% Povetkin. Remaining 10% to the winner.

    Still doesn't clear up if the split changes if the champion has to fight in the challenger's home country.

        It's usually like 5 or 10 percent. So just add that on too the number.

            I posted this on the other thread, and was pretty much ignored. This rule has been in effect since November 2015

            Yeah, so if Wilder wins, he'll get 73% of the overall purse, if Povetkin wins, he'll get 37% of the overall purse.

            The WBC don't have any rules that give the champion more of the purse if he fights away from home. The WBO have this rule, but from what i've seen, the WBC don't

              Povetkin's team won the bid!! The bid is estimated to be around 7,2M$.

              Will Wilder go to Russia for 4,5M$?

              Haymon has lots of money though...

              Riabinsky is short of money though...

                    Ah thanks for clearing this up! I knew there was a rule for champions fighting away from their home country but couldn't remember if the WBC had it in place or not. Do you know if the IBF/WBA has a similar rule like the WBO?
