Calvin Brock is another guy that comes to mind. He is legally blind in row eye following surgery after his fight with Eddie Chambers. A couple years ago he was said to be done then he came back & fought in Quebec a few times. You only have 2 eyes. If you can't get licenced in Vegas, NY or California then there is no real chance of getting those big fights. He can make a decent living in Quebec but he will be limited to how far he can go if he can't get a licence in the big 3. Joe Mesi retired because he couldn't get a licence in the big 3. He could sell out Buffalo arenas but when the NYSAC wouldn't grant him a licence he called it a career.
Eddie Chambers was Cal Brock's last official fight. There's no record of him fighting in Quebec after the Chambers fight. Were they exhibition matches?

I'm talking Oscar Rivas fighting in Quebec. He had 2 retina surgeries & was said to be done but he got clearance to fight again in Quebec... Chambers was Brock's last fight...
