Comments Thread For: Farhood: If Khan is KO'd By Canelo, He's Not A-Side With Brook

Showtime Boxing analyst Steve Farhood feels Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is taking a tremendous risk in jumping up in weight to face WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) at a catch-weight of 155-pounds.

Even if he loses in the next 4/5 fights Khan would still be the A-side. Brook sold himself short, sometimes you do not need to chase a fight desperately why? Because at the negotiation take you would get taken to the cleaners.

The person who desperately chases and uses the other name to promote his own fights against poor opposition, can NEVER be the A-side.

Eddie Hearn and match room have a long history of doing this. There's a reason why Frampton and McGuigan despise Hearn, because they pushed the same propaganda with Quigg. Trying to convince everyone that their man, Quigg, is on equal footing with Frampton and thus deserving a higher purse. They've been doing the same thing with Khan, and it's annoyed him to the point where he's insistent on Hearn giving him the money he claimed he would get him (over 10 mill).

Depends on how he gets KO'd. If Canelo blows him out it might even it out to a 50-50 fight.

He didn't take the fight with Brook because he knows Brook will knock him clean out,out cold!

Amir is a smart man,he took this fight with Alvarez so he can cash out. Then once he's knocked out by Canelo he can get a couple million off Hearn and fight Brook and get knocked out again.Perfect!

Brook ducked Chaves, Alexander, Bradley, Thurman and Rios. Now he's fighting another D-level fighter Bizier.

Khan will always be the A-side against Brook, it goes without saying. The only way Brook can change that is if he mans up and fights a succession of decent opponents but he's just too reluctant to do so. Even if he fought Khan's last 4 opponents now, Brook's record would improve significantly in terms of opposition he's faced. That says a lot if you think about it

Khan doesn't really have any fans, at least Brook can sell out Sheffield against bums.

Khan was frustrated because he refused to work his way up to a Mayweather and Pac fight. He thought sitting on the sidelines running his mouth would buy him the golden ticket.
