You're right but I doubt Japan would offer such a high quantity for any fight with a foreigner against their own, especially since it would be the foreigner claiming the lions share. I could be wrong but I doubt they would fork over a million plus to Roman alone.

Also, the main conflict lies in the fact that Roman and his team want him to headline an HBO PPV card. They won't get such an option in Japan and the fact that they are attempting to reach stardom is another factor that adds on to them being so adamant about headlining their own PPV and getting the considerable sum they are asking for. So he can get all the Yen he pleaseas over seas, but he realizes HBO's platform can provide something that Japan's doesn't and that's star power and recognition in the western world.

Ahhhhh I recall Leo doing the same thing that Roman is pulling off when asked about Rigondeaux, he bumped up the price tag to 3 million and played it safe until moving up to 126. Did Leo get his money? Nope, but he didn't have to fight the Cuban neither. I see Roman is learning well.

no doubt. If only he was at a higher weight division I'm sure it be fine... But like Zanfer's mouthpiece told Roman's team, they should consider being logical when placing a price tag on the rematch. It's not like Roman has a massive built in fanbase nor does his division entice many folks North of the border that would justify such demands.

Roman is one of these guys where the fans are being told they should like him, that he's special, etc, etc. But, he has no personality and the interest just isn't there. Small guys really have to market themselves if they want the big money.

Plus headline his own HBO PPV any time soon? He recently stated himself that he now wants 2 million for a rematch with Estrada and apparently he will be sitting down with HBO and mentioning his goal to become a PPV attraction. According to Carlos Blandon, Roman's team is confident in getting whatever amount it is they are asking for( right) and supposedly money shouldn't be the issue for the Estrada rematch.

After his fight with Arroyo this April, Roman seems to be headed towards a 4th title in a 4th weight division in September and could very well rematch Estrada in the tail end months of the year, if the money is right that is. It would make sense since Estrada is looking to return in the later parts of May, take on the ALA kingpin Donnie Nietes in September and possibly head into the Roman clash at the end of the year himself.

Personally I think he'll get his PPV dream scrapped, especially if it isn't against Estrada. Also, not very many people follow the sport enough to know whom the legitamite threats are down there. Estrada, Inoue, Cuadras and Amnat might be familiar to most forum goers but for the average fan they sound like your local mechanic, some new Honda car model, etc... I just don't see it, especially since HBO isn't doing much in regards to developing other names in and around Roman's weight class as of yet.

Thoughts? Will Roman achieve his multi million dream and PPV stardom any time soon?

He would have to become a legitimate "Mexicutioner" to get anywhere close to being on PPV and he isnt beating Estrada so my answer is NO. lol

Anybody in the know understands Chocolatito is no foreigner in Japan - he is well known and gets paid handsomely ; Please dont mention Leo 'Quack Quack' Santa Cruz with Royalty. RG has taken on all comers and IS P4P King as such he can make the demands he wishes unlike that Punk! I have all the confidence in Gonzalez considering he has done everything that people said he could not - whether he achieves his financial goals or not its for the good of the lighter weights and he should be commended that people are actually talking about them ; but instead he gets hate - LEGEND.
