  • Also it seems like Verdejo loves missing that 1-2, it's fast but he is content to just land on the gloves for some reason.

He has that killer instinct. Once he smells weakness, he pounces, which is a great thing. It's like he knows how to please the crowd but after the fight, he is completely cool with the other guy, it's just business. Crawford gives me the sense that he gets it, he knows what he is being paid to do and pleasing the crowd is part of that.

That's because he is facing guys that won't counter him when he misses. When he steps up he'll be expecting the same lack of countering and he will get popped for it. The guy is athletic but he is falling into a rut because of the level of comp he has faced thus far.

                • I wanted to clarify something, in the conference they were saying that Lomachenko said that Verdejo was his toughest amateur fight. However, Lomachenko was asked which was his tougher fight between Verdejo, Valdez and Ramirez and Loma said Verdejo. It wasn't his toughest amateur fight, it wasn't even his toughest fight at the 2012 Olympics. Toledo of Cuba was the only (2012) Olympic opponent that made Loma work.
It's obvious they said that to give Verdejo hype, but I just needed to clarify that. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
I'm pretty sure the Loma-Verdejo fight is on YouTube. I don't think Verdejo even landed one clean shot in the fight.
