He really, really wants to fight Kovalev, you guys. Honest. Just not next or the fight after that.
Ha ha, so true. He is taking "getting acclimated to the weight" to a whole new level of scientific endeavour."
Meanwhile, back on earth, his stablemate with the same trainer is jumping two weight classes to take on Canelo. Sugar Ray came back from a 3 year layoff and went straight in with Hagler, but Andrea, who wants to be great let's not forget, needs to get the ring rust out and get acclimated at 175, a weight he has fought at many times. He's getting beaten badly if the fight ever happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

How about a Ward/Brahmer, Kovalev/Fonfara HBO double header like they used to do in the old days?

Ward said the injury wasn't that bad, but he pulled out just in case. I doubt he skipped out on a PPV just because.
exactly this, ward is sooooooo good, yet he still needs 2 tune ups before KOvalev. GGG is a tomato can crusher but he should jump right in the ring with Ward without testing the waters at 168 lbs lol

Ward just came off a layoff and just moved up in weight.....it would be dumb to not have tune-ups when you are facing P4P fighter destroying dudes

I gotta feeling that after Ward feels Barerra @ 175, he will re-consider going back to 168 for GGG!

Hilarious as always. Ward needs to get acclimated to a division 7 pounds higher, but Gennady needs to jump 8 asap to fight what many think is the number one pound for pound fighter in the world.

The good thing is Ward will be considered as a ligitimate 175 pounder after he beats two real 175 pounders without a problem before Kovalev. If he would fight him now they would say he isnt any good at 175 and has been to inactive if he loses to Kovalev.
