Former two division champion Marcos Maidana (35-5, 31KOs) says he is likely to return to action in the "middle of 2015." The boxer, 31-years-old, had a huge year in 2014 with two Showtime Pay-Per-View fights with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs). Although he lost, Maidana was competitive in both contests. In terms of the options, there is very little interest in facing Keith Thurman after the boxer had a very lackluster performance last Saturday night with 40-year-old Leonard Bundu.

This is how I see it, while I would have favored Thurman quite heavily, we're gonna learn a lot about Thurman after the Porter fight.

Yup and this isn't any opponent Maidana can jump on, it's a heavy handed counter puncher who'd hurt Maidana to the body or put him down.

Maidana's team said this on 07-02-2012, after Maidana lost to Devon Alexander in his welterweight debut. So, according to you, Maidana -- coming off a loss -- should have fought a big puncher who, at the time, was fighting at 154. That sounds reasonable to you? Maidana didn't even have a trainer. You're coming off as a ****** troll.

The Maidana that fought Mayweather was washed up old, and already had one foot out of the game talking about retirement. Thurman should beat him. Now, the Maidana that fought Khan was fresh, in his prime and at his peak. Thurman loses to that Maidana probably. Maidana was a good fighter in his prime, around the time Khan fought him.
