Yes, they ****ing do! There are multiple species that carry out life long relationships with same sex partners. They bring in males or females to procreate, then kick that male or female out and raise the children with their same sex partner. Male swans even wait for a female to lay eggs and then drive them from their nest to rest the children, without having sex with them at all. Mallards, giraffes, penguins, freaking penguins have straight up rejected females brought in by zoos to encourage heterosexual pairings.
