Don't know much about him aside from a YouTube highlight video and his last fight. Respect him for not wasting time and making an exciting fight. Before someone chimes in that it's all about the money, it's not. Numerous fighters have declined big money fights and milked their title. It's refreshing to see a guy who didn't do that. Win, or lose, I hope he puts on a show and has a great career.

Why does Charles Martin get ridiculed on this forum? It's still early in his career and yet people are putting him down before he's even out of the gates? I also think he has a very good chance of winning against AJ. Look at his physique compared to AJ's. Muscule bounded physiques without fat to loosen up joints is never a good thing in boxing. AJ was beginning to gas against Whyte and looked very stiff. Don't underestimate Martin is all I'm saying, way too early for that.

Who hates him? I think people are sarcastic about how he wont the title. Maybe some feel he didnt deserve a change at Wlads then Furys IBF belt that was stripped. Dont really see much hate.

How about looking very calm and poised and fighting in the pocket. For his first title fight he kept his composer and fought his fight. As opposed to Glazkov who was all over the place and gun shy

Glazkov injured himself in the second round.

He couldn't put any weight through his punches and his defense was all but useless.

A decent operator would have jumped on that and got him out of there. Martin didn't.

I don't "hate" Charles Martin. I just have no respect for him because he isn't a real champion. not because he's black.

Martin looks slow and awful but so did Tony Thompson and he was actually pretty good. Martin gives off similar vibes and he looks to be extremely laid back, which can help in high pressure situations. Biblical should take him out early, but I won't entirely write off his chances. Sometimes dudes like that can shock you.
