Martinez is on the slide bad. He was a very good fighter when Burns beat him but that was some 4 years ago. This is a different time. Loma didn't beat THAT Martinez.

And who the *** doesn't beat Gonzalez? The Mares win flatters him but he was an old man. It's like saying omg Floyd beat Baldomir", when in reality we all know Baldomir means ****.

If Loma was being built up as a prospect/fringe contender, I'd have no problem but I'm supposed to believe he is p4p. Max says "he does things in the ring I've never seen a fighter do"...well how about he do something many fighters do, fight better opponents. That's all I'm saying. It's all about context.

Look, the Salido fight was his best fight/opponent but he lost that. Since then he has beaten a propect, a couple of journeymen and an old fighter.

Russell Jr. is better than Salido. That being said, Lomachenko was totally unprepared to handle that mugging that Salido gave him. Styles make fights. Lomachenko beat the young quick guy easy, that should have been the hard fight, and lost to the old, slow, shopworn warhouse.
The guy that Lomachenko just beat at 130 ain't *****. It's a fairly shallow division.

Loma said he might keep moving up if he doesn't get good fights. At 135 we could see him with Verdejo or Linares.
HBO has screwed up with Loma and GGG. They are both avoided and opponents want loads of money to lose. Instead of having GGG/Loma fighting 3 or 4 times against bums they should fight twice so they can afford to give their loser opponents more money. That's what i would do. That said Salido, Walters, and Gamboa are fights that are trying to get made.
It's just that with the current "prize fighting" model many guys just price themselves out. This model of boxing will fail and eventually in boxing the best will fight the best at their best or nobody will tune in.
We've seen it with Rigo, GGG, Lomanchenko, and Williams in older times. The current system in boxing doesn't work. Don't blame the fighters blame the corrupt system.
